CRESMET is a research center dedicated to creating the knowledge educators must have to enable all students in all schools to receive the rigorous education in math and science needed to succeed in the 21st century.

An interdisciplinary center supported by ASU's Office of the Provost, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering, and Mary Lou Fulton College of Education, CRESMET pursues funded research projects to support the work of its faculty.

The National Science Foundation is currently funding two major CRESMET projects--the Math and Science Partnership Project Pathways for $12.5 million and the Teacher Professional Continuum for $4.5 million.

Other funded projects include the Math and Science Teaching Fellows program, supported by Science Foundation Arizona, as well as other NSF programs for total current funding of more than $35 million.

CRESMET faculty mentor students and teachers pursuing graduate degrees in mathematics and science education. Prospective graduate students have several options for the Ph.D. in mathematics education. The Master's of Natural Science degree is designed for teachers who wish to pursue content-focused studies in mathematics and science education.

    Research for Teaching & Learning

CRESMET researchers design, test and continually refine new theories, methods and materials for teachers and faculty to use in classrooms from K-12 through university graduate programs. The center’s approach is interdisciplinary, and our research teams include scientists, mathematicians and engineers as well as educators.

In testing new approaches and materials, CRESMET researchers work closely with teachers in K-12 classrooms and faculty at community colleges and universities.  The center’s funded research projects provide professional development opportunities for teachers and training in research methods for graduate students...MORE
